Overview
A housing portfolio manager faced a five-year facade maintenance bill with no reliable condition baseline. Skyvane programmed a tower-by-tower inspection campaign: close-range RGB passes of every elevation plus thermal screening of roofs, compiled into 48 building dossiers with repair priorities.
The challenge
Residents stayed home throughout, so flights had to respect privacy hours, avoid balconies at close range, and coordinate with 48 building managers. Two towers sat near a heliport approach, requiring daily coordination windows.
Our approach
We flew a repeating elevation pattern — four faces plus roof per tower — with a privacy protocol briefed to every pilot and observer. Thermal roof passes ran pre-dawn; facade passes ran mid-morning for even light. Analysts graded 1,900+ findings into critical, scheduled, and watch classes.
- 48 building dossiers with pinned, graded defects
- 1,900+ findings triaged into three priority classes
- Thermal roof screening on all 48 buildings
- Repair verification re-flights for critical items
Outcome
The manager tendered repairs straight from our dossiers — no contractor site visits needed for pricing — and cut the survey budget to a third of the rope-access quote. Critical repairs were verified by re-flight within the same quarter.
From Above
"The dossiers priced themselves. Contractors bid straight from the defect maps — no site visits, no arguments."
